Best ever GCSE results for Twynham School Again!

Twynham School celebrates another set of superb GCSE results today.

Dr Terry Fish, Executive Headteacher, commented: “I’m absolutely delighted with our students’ GCSE results and at a time when the government is purposely limiting the number of high grades and is making GCSEs harder, our students have risen to that challenge and have excelled.

A stunning 21 students gained grade A* or A for at least eight of their subjects. These were Bridget Butler, Sara Noroozi, Jasmine Mussell, Adam Winter, Bethany Cooper, Sofia Howard, Imogen Jailler, Meghan Lee, Charlie Rodwell, Joshua Lutwyche, Joshua Nation, Sam Neville, Aidan Rawlings, Rebecca Hall, Harry Rose, Samantha Collins, Joshua Parker, Jessica Pulley, Harry Woolnough, Alice Ryan and James Lett.

Overall, a stunning 93% of the students gained A*-C in English and 77% gained A*-C in mathematics meaning that 76% of students gained A*-C in both English and mathematics. Just over 71% of the students gained five or more A*-C grades including English and mathematics, although this measure will not feature in the performance tables from this year onwards.

In a truly comprehensive school, these are outstanding achievements and I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate the students and to thank their teachers, support staff and parents for enabling them to do so well.”
