Welcome

Twynham School is an exceptionally special placeJy Taylor formal cropped; a school which believes in the unlimited potential of every child, where people are valued above all and ultimately a place where every child can be successful. Our long-tradition of success is built on two vital pillars; high quality teaching and learning and, most importantly, the value we place on the very special relationships between students and staff.

I feel incredibly honoured to lead such a remarkable school. At Twynham we care about the individual and pride ourselves in the warmth of our community in which all of our students feel valued. Of course examination results matter and at Twynham our students consistently achieve excellent results in all areas giving them access to far-reaching opportunities. However this is just one aspect of Twynham and students are supported to show ambition both within and beyond the classroom.

The way we do things at Twynham is incredibly important to us. The emphasis on cultivating strong relationships, developing independence and having fun allows our students to flourish in an environment that is tightly focused on learning.

Our students have a huge array of opportunities beyond the curriculum. Music, dance and drama provide the school with its heart and soul. Sport, Ten Tors and the Duke of Edinburgh scheme provide competition and travel to Africa, Europe and beyond its sense of adventure. We set high standards, respect and hard work are expected, but students are encouraged to make the most of every opportunity and to have a great deal of fun along the way.

We are incredibly fortunate at Twynham to have a wealth of expertise to support our students. Our teaching staff are, quite simply, superb. All have boundless passion for their subjects and this enthusiasm, combined with an astute understanding of how young people learn, enables our students to achieve at the very highest level. Alongside this, we have developed a network of support for all of our students that will allow them to gain access to those highly coveted places at the country’s top universities, specialist colleges for arts and the highest quality apprenticeships available. Whatever your passion we will encourage and support you to become the very best you can be.

Our school is, however, unique and no website can fully capture the spirit of Twynham. The only way to get a feel for what we believe in and how we do things is to come for a visit and meet the people that make the school such a special place.

I look forward to meeting you.
