Qualification: BTEC Award in Enterprise

Assessment:


The qualification consists of three components that will give students the opportunity to explore enterprises which includes the planning, running, promotion and finance for Enterprise.

Components 1 and 2 are assessed through internal assessment.  Component 3 builds on the skills and knowledge learnt in components 1 and 2 and takes the form of a board set assignment which is externally marked.

Who is the course for?

This course is for those who wish to acquire skills through vocational contexts by studying the knowledge, behaviours and skills related to researching, setting up, running and reviewing an enterprise as part of their learning. 

You should:

  • Have an interest in market research, planning, promotions and financial skills related to enterprise 
  • Be keen to learn about factors that affect the performance of an enterprise
  • Be able to communicate and self-reflect on performance of enterprise

What will I do on the course?

You will study sector specific knowledge and skills in a practical learning environment including:

  • The development of core knowledge and understanding including the range of enterprises and the key features and factors that contribute to an enterprise’s levels of success.
  • The development and application of skills such as: analysing research, information, planning and financial forecasting, communicating and problem solving.
  • Reflective practice through carrying out a small enterprise activity that allows learners to respond to feedback and identify areas for improvement.
  • Promotion and Finance for Enterprise requiring learners to analyse and interpret information in relation to an enterprise and to make recommendations on strategies to use to improve the performance of the enterprise.
