What are the Core Subjects?

In Years 10 and 11 all students study the Core Subjects. To find out more, please click the links below.

English English Literature
Maths Science

 

Students will study either Geography or History, meaning they can choose three further optional subjects.

In addition to the core curriculum, all students continue to receive core PE, RE and PSHE lessons, and have access to a range of extra-curricular activities.

Options Process Key Dates

January 2026

  • The Options process is explained to students in assembly  
  • In PSHE lessons, students are given information and guided through the options portal

February 2026

  • Thursdsay 5th - Year 9 Parent/Carer Consultaion Evening
  • Thursday 26th - Options Evening. Evening event at the school to launch the option process to parents and students
  • Students find out more about option subjects during normal lessons

March 2026

  • Monday 16th - Option Choice deadline

June 2026

  • Options are confirmed and are sent to parents
